Memory pets are a welcome addition to our therapy dogs at Cariad Pet Therapy.

We have been championing the concept since April 2020 when our therapy dog visits were suspended due to COVID-19.

Through funding from The National Lottery Community Fund and from other donations we have been able to donate 82 of the robotic life-like memory pets.
The memory pets have a proven impact on communities and users enjoy a better quality of life and emotional health by, reducing social isolation, loneliness, depression, and in some circumstances, medication. They evoke smiles and laughter and bring people together.
The pets are widely used in dementia care services, within care homes for the elderly, with people with learning disabilities and with people receiving support in their own homes.
We have been told of some heart-warming stories of the success of these pets at Cariad Pet Therapy. We are strong advocates of their worth alongside our actual therapy dogs.
